It’s a beautiful morning. The sky is a beautiful blue, not marred by smog or blocked by the marine layer. Only a few wispy clouds meandering through it and the remains of yesterday’s storm far on the horizon.
We certainly don’t get to see a morning sky like this very often living along the overpopulated California coast. It’s a welcome change I am enjoying as I sit here enjoying the quiet and drinking a cup of tea.
I’d pitched up in a hurry last night as it looked like a storm we’d driven through on our way to Ward Mountain BLM Recreation Area was heading straight our way.

Likewise, the older two made a windbreak out of our folding table so they could quickly fry up some hot dogs and beans before the rains came.

Thankfully, the storm ended up passing by us and we enjoyed a calm and quiet and dry evening.
We’re heading north to Angel Lake this morning just outside Wells, Nevada before we’ll move on into Idaho and Montana. The kids brought their poles, so maybe we’ll even get some fishing in. Should be a nice drive albeit a hot one. I’m definitely ready to get out of the triple digit temps.
