Another Detour

By now, I’m an old pro at things not going to plan. The Defender is still overheating. I got the fan working again by installing a new switch, but on the highway once you get over 55 the temp gauge still just starts climbing up, up, up.

For most cars, this would be no big deal, just take it to the garage and have them figure it out and fix it. But the Defender isn’t most cars. It’s British, an import, and a hybrid. This means there’s no way I’m going to trust just anybody. I need to find a specialty garage.

Luckily, there’s one in Dallas. The best part? It’s run by a Brit. I’m feeling a bit of confidence I’ll be getting it fixed and getting it fixed right. So instead of heading to Alabama to get our rooftop tent, we’re heading to north Texas to get our truck fixed. We’ve family up that way too, so we’ll camp near them and make the most of this slow detour, after all we can’t go more than 55mph.
