New ID!

Woohoo! I’m officially authorized to utilize military facilities again.

Made it to Camp Lejeune today and after a bit of negotiation was able to get a new ID. It would seem their rules state no children are allowed in the building unless they are getting an ID for themselves. Umm… I’ve got four children, one of whom is a bit wild and not really the greatest at following directions (that’s right, I’m talking about Mr. Stubborn). And you want me to leave them all outside, together, without supervision? Clearly whoever created this asinine rule was unfamiliar with children and inconsiderate of spouses with absent sponsors.

Thankfully, I had all my pertinent paperwork with me – birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc. because it made the process proceed smoothly. I was also allowed to keep Little One with me, so I didn’t have to worry whether or not the older kids would actually watch over her.

Now, I’m the proud owner of a new military ID, nobody ran off, got lost, or otherwise became incapacitated, and we’re headed to Onslow Beach to spend a few days enjoying the sun and surf, with hopefully a little less heat.
